We stayed as a family of 4 for three nights. The safari tent was well equipped with lots of warm bedding and blankets. We used the hot tub every night and enjoyed the lights twinkling in the distance even in the rain. The area is very peaceful and the kids loved the mud kitchen and sand pit. Plenty of hot water for everyone to take the chill off in the morning. Information sent beforehand was really useful and we recieved a warm welcome on arrival. There is lots to do in the surrounding area for kids – we visited a coal mine museum and the national caves. It was a great stay and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Just Fabulous!
What a find! We were a group of 13, which included adults and children and stayed in all 3 safari tents for a weekend. Stunning views from all tents and so peaceful. All were beautifully clean and well equipped. We loved having a proper bathroom! The tents are far enough apart so we could have our own privacy but close enough so we could spend time together, have BBQ’s and enjoy the biggest hot tub. Loved all the extras the hosts had thought of like blankets for the evenings, and the Den beds are a favourite with the kids!
Excellent facilities locally, the Co-op is a few minutes drive and we had a wonderful meal in the local The Church house Inn – we couldn’t fault any of the food and the staff were very welcoming. There is lots to do within about 40 minutes, we climbed Pen y Fan and can thoroughly recommend the Gorge adventure with Parkwood outdoors in the Brecon Beacons. Would love to come back.

Perfect family holiday
What an amazing place! We loved to stay here for our family-holiday. The kids played a lot with the mudkitchen, roasted marshmallows over the fire and we all enjoyed the hottub! The views over the pond are stunning. The tent has everything you need for a holiday.

Amazing experience!! Under the oak glamping sits in a fabulous region of the Welsh country side. The tent is cozy, comfy and well equipped, the bath tub is easy to prepare and the views are breathtaking. On top of that, the generous hosts, Lydia and Richard, left a yummy dose of delicious welsh cakes. I definitely recommend under the oak glamping for a wholesome getaway.

Stunning
what can i say? the sun was shining; the birds were singing, and all is well. relaxing weekend with no interruptions. we had the small accommodation that we were taken to on arrival. it served our purpose. nice fan in the hut and the hot tub was just perfect at the end of the day. we then were able to sit on the lawn and watch the stars come out in pitch blackness with no one and nothing bothering us until about two in the morning.

One of the best short breaks I’ve had
We run a busy business and rarely get time away from it all, so we wanted a place to go where we could switch off, relax and not be disturbed. Under the oak delivered on it all, we had such a peaceful, relaxing time. The cosiest comfiest bed, a hot soak in the hot tub every night, stunning views and wildlife to watch – it was everything we wanted and more. Can’t wait to come back

Just Perfect!
We started our round trip of Wales here, doing adventurous activities in the Brecon Beacons and it could not have been a nicer base camp. We had all the facilities we could ask for and more.
Coming back to a kitchen and a hot tub was perfect, the scenery was stunning and the hut/tent was spectacular.
We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived, during the stay we were very comfortable and for what was offered, we were incredibly happy with the price.
Overall, I would 100% stay here again and I’d highly recommend this to anyone.

A beautifully cosy place to stay
We originally planned to visit with our two friends and their 5 year old however they unfortunately couldn’t make it last minute. However that did not tarnish the holiday at all. It was such a beautiful place, with a gorgeous view; an amazing tent (we stayed in the safari tent) and the hospitality from the owners was next level amazing.
When we arrived we were promptly met by the owners and guided to our special parking area, right by our site. We had so much space to ourselves and were not overlooked at all. Which is perfect since we had our 2 year old and dog to keep an eye on. And they had so much room to run around.
In our own bit we were able to enjoy our own hot tub, BBQ area with picnic bench and my daughter loved the sandpit and mud kitchen! We had a big decking area out the front of the tent which we did yoga on each morning 🙂
Inside the tent was also super cosy (but roomy!) and had lots of nooks and crannies to it. Complete with wood burner which was great for the mornings when it was a bit chilly. Our daughter and I coslept in a little bed room up some ladders and found it super cosy with the fairy lights for story time!
We had great adventures nearby in the Brecon Beacons and the seaside at Porth Cawl. And the nature in the summer bloom was just breath taking.
We had all the weathers and found it fine in the tent no matter what. Cosy in the rain with the fire on or cool with the door open when the sun was out.
I highly recommend staying here as a family especially – the owners could not do more for you!

A spectacularly beautiful spot to spent a week
From the moment that we drove up the hill and our safari tent came in to view we knew we had picked a beautiful place to camp for a week. There are actually three of these safari tents. Ours was positioned facing the water with a view of the great old oak tree, roots exposed and reflected beautifully in the water. Another is placed on the opposite side with a larger grassy area for kids to play, (this one is still just as close to the water but rotated by 90 degrees so as to face on to the grassy area as well. From this tent you can walk a few feet down to the base of the oak tree to admire it. The third safari tent is situated away from the water in its own secluded green area, with much more space for children to run around. All three, (though ours in particular) are stunningly beautiful and well kept, with lovely kitchen, bathroom and sleeping areas. Additionally an outdoor fire pit, an indoor log burner, and an outdoor hot tub are all provided for your enjoyment.
We had such an amazing time at Under the Oak and ventured out as far as Pembrokeshire to see the impressive coastline.
It would be difficult to find things to improve about the site, however I do think that the cost of wood was a bit steep at £7 for a relatively small amount. In particular this is steep when you consider that the hot tub is not electric and has to have a fire stoked for a few hours to bring it up to temperature.
Under the Oak glamping was one of the nicest glamping sites I’ve ever stayed in and we will definitely be returning in the future.
Thank you Lydia and Richard!!
