About us

Our 5* safari tents take glamping in South Wales to a whole new level of luxury.

Two of the tents- Dan y Dderwen and Y Draenen Wen – comfortably sleep four. The gorgeous Welsh box bed, with its twinkly lights is perfect for couples and the day bed easily converts into a double, perfect for friends or a couple of kids. Parents visiting with younger children please be aware that the tents are very close to the pond, which is not fenced. All bedding is provided and each tent has its own private hot tub.

Dan y Ffawydden, which means under the beech, is a little further away from the water’s edge and has plenty of space to run around and play. It sleeps up to six people in two doubles and a set of bunks. It of course also has its own private hot tub too.

Living areas offer a comfy and spacious place to unwind, with sofa, dining area and books and games to keep everyone amused.

There are plenty of candles and lanterns but we also have led lighting where you need it. There is electric so you can charge your phone, if you want to stay in contact with the outside world.

At the heart of the tent is a toasty wood burner and plenty of logs to get it roaring away. If you do need more, head down to the log store, where extra bags can be purchased.

The kitchen area has all you need to rustle up a feast, if you’re not cooking al fresco on the fire pit! A 2 ring gas hob, fridge and a sink with hot water on tap. You will also find it stocked with plenty of basics such as oil, salt, pepper and herbs, plus a little extra treat on arrival. Why not book one of our fabulous food hampers too?

The bathroom doesn’t scrimp on luxury either. You have a flushing toilet, basin and hot shower. We also provide fluffy towels for your stay.

Outside, the tent has a huge and well sheltered veranda, facing away from the prevailing winds so that you can take in the fabulous view in all weathers. There’s a table and chairs for outdoor dining.

For the more adventurous glampers, pull up a log around the fire pit which has a griddle and hot plate for barbecuing.

And finally, not forgetting the natural wooden hot tub. It’s heated by a wood burning stove and once up to temperature will stay hot for around an hour, by which time you will be very wrinkly. There are no nasty chemicals, just pure water which is of course changed for every guest.

Cynefin & Cartref

Cynefin and Cartref started life as the rusty shells of old railway goods wagons and we have lovingly brought them back to life. Now they’re a couple of quirky, cosy hideaways for two. Each has its own unique style and personality.

Guests in the carriages will feel they are tucked away in a private corner of the farm but still have amazing views of the valley below.

You won’t need to tramp around in the dark to visit a toilet hut –  Cynefin and Cartref each boast their own en suite shower room!

The carriages are heated by a gorgeous little wood burning stove, keeping you snug in all seasons.

The kitchens have a fridge, hob, sink and all the pots and pans you need, although the more adventurous glampers might want to try cooking on the tripod over the fire pit!

Our absolute favourite thing about Cynefin and Cartref is the sheltered wood fired hot tubs. We’ve found the perfect spot just next door to each carriage, to give you this special little luxury. Relax with a glass of wine or a cuppa and take in the amazing views.

One dog is welcome in each carriage.

Dogs

Well behaved pets are more than welcome in our safari tents and railway carriages. You can bring up to two dogs to the tents and one in each carriage. For £25 per stay we will provide a bowl and basket for your four legged family member. We only ask that you keep pets out of the human beds and be mindful that this is a working farm so there may be sheep or cattle nearby.

Parking

There is one designated parking space for each tent and carriage. These are around 50-100 metres from your accomodation and wheelbarrows are provided. Further free parking is available down in the main car park area five minute walk from the glampsite. Please come to the main car park when you first check in so we can show you around.

Larder

You can buy provisions from the local village which is only a mile down the lane but we have a small honesty shop near reception where you can pick up some essentials. Our own free range farm eggs, local preserves, tea, coffee and biscuits.

We also stock extra firelighters, kindling and charcoal and spa slippers, which are very handy for popping to the hot tub!

For a small charge, you can rent a deck chair from the shop. You will also find a selection of toys, games and books which you’re welcome to borrow.
