What to Pack for a Glamping Holiday in Wales: The Essential Checklist

One of the best things about glamping is that you get the fresh air, fire pit evenings and proper outdoorsy feeling without having to pack the whole house.

At Under the Oak, all bedding and towels are included, so there is no need to squeeze duvets, pillows or bath towels into the car. We also have some books and games available, but it is always worth bringing a few favourites of your own, especially for slower mornings, rainy afternoons or cosy evenings by the wood burner.

Here are a few handy things to pack for your stay.

Clothes for Welsh weather

South Wales weather can be a bit of everything, sometimes in the same day. Pack layers so you can add or take away depending on the forecast. A waterproof coat, warm jumper, comfy trousers and sturdy shoes or boots are always a good idea.

In warmer months, bring lighter clothes too, but do not forget something cosy for sitting outside in the evening.

Bathers for the hot tub

Every one of our glamping stays has its own private wood-fired hot tub, so swimming costumes or trunks are a must. Flip-flops or sliders are handy for getting in and out, especially in cooler weather.

Food for the fire pit or BBQ

Each property has an outdoor fire pit with a griddle, so bring food you can cook and enjoy outside. Burgers, sausages, veggie skewers, halloumi, foil-wrapped potatoes, corn on the cob and marshmallows all work well.

Do not forget breakfast bits, snacks, drinks and anything you like for a first-night meal when you arrive.

Books, games and little extras

Bring a book you have been meaning to start, a pack of cards or a favourite board game. A torch, reusable water bottle and phone charger are useful too.

Pack well, keep it simple, and leave room for the relaxed bit. That is what glamping is all about.
